As a teacher, do want to go the extra mile on your students’ behalf? Are your students working on an author study and want to know the inspiration for one of my books? Teachers who reached out and questioned the age of Mae, the main character in “The Moon Over Star” and who asked if Mae was astronaut Mae Jemison and if Star was a real town. Thanks for asking. A college professor reached out to ask if I’d talk to her student teachers – of course, the date she had in mind was also her birthday!
